Who can get it?

Primary legal aid will be provided to you, if:
  • you are a citizen of the Republic of Lithuania;
  • you are a citizen of the member state of the European Union;
  • you reside lawfully in Lithuania or other member state of the European Union;
  • you are entitled to legal aid according to international treaties of the Republic of Lithuania.

A specialist may refuse to provide legal aid, if:
  • your claims are manifestly unfounded;
  • you have already been provided extensive consultation on the same issue;
  • it is obvious that you can obtain a lawyer’s advice without resorting to the state-guaranteed legal aid established by the law;
  • you do not apply in relation to your own rights and legitimate interests, with the exception of the cases of representation under the law.
